Bozyaka Teaching & Research Hospital “Ear Nose and Throat” (ENT) Department

University of Health Sciences Bozyaka Training and Research Hospital ENT department has been continuing to provide health services in İzmir across the Aegean province since the late 1970s. Our clinic provides both education and health services related to ear surgery, cochlear implantation, both functional and aesthetic nose surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, head and neck surgery, thyroid (goitre) surgery under recurrent nerve monitorization, snoring and sleep apnea surgery, endoscopic lacrimal sac surgery, dizziness and vertigo treatment. Annually approximately 2500 operations are performed under general or local anesthesia in our clinic. 

Surgical procedures for cochlear implantation started since 1998 in our clinic and Cochlear Implant Center (CIC) was established and opened for patient entrance since 2000 from all over the country. Our CIC continues to be one of the pioneering centers within the country with approximately 2300 cochlear implant cases from establishment till today. Additionally it has a propencity for management education, pre and postoperative fitting capabilities for these implant patients. It carries the leadership properties for its neonatal screening in international screening programs. Residency education is one of the priorities of our clinic, there were dozens of doctors specialized in variety of fields of medicine from our clinic and it continues to serve our people as an” Training and Research Hospital University of Medical Sciences.
