Our clinic was established in Buca SSK hospital in 1983 and started to provide training with the first assistant recruitment in 1984. Since 1995, we have began to provide services in İzmir Bozyaka Education and Research Hospital. The aim of our clinic is to closely follow innovations applied in modern urology, to implement them and to provide services and education in this direction.According to the urological developments in the world today, most of our operations are minimally invasive surgery.
Especially ureterorenoscopic procedures for ureter stones have been carried out since May 1992 .Our clinicis an important stone center of our region. Percutaneous nephrolithotripsy and laparoscopic surgery from endourologic interventions started to be applied in the second half of 2004 and they constitute a significant part of our cases today.All urological radical surgeries (radical nephrectomy, cystectomy, prostatectomy) are performed in our clinic and laparoscopic operations are performed on renal tumors.All current minimally invasive methods are applied in urinary incontinence. All kinds of penile prosthesis and penile correction operations are performed successfully.As local surgical interventions, cystoscopy and TRUS-associated prostate biopsies are performed routinely and percutaneous nephrostomy and percutaneous cyst drainage are performed.Urodynamic studies in coordination with the neurological branch policlinic serve the entire region.
The outpatient clinic services of our clinic are urology 1,2,3 policlinics daily and urology branch policlinics which are done by academicians who specialize in urooncology(Monday, Friday), neurourology and incontinence (Tuesday ), andrology, (Wednesday), stone diseases (Thursday).
In our clinic, great importance has been given to the training activities and it has been ensured that the assistants are best trained both theoretically and practically.Training is held twice a week during seminar training and case presentation.Assistants were encouraged to write articles and case reports to be published in domestic and international journals.A large number of articles have been published in the SCI and SCI expanded journals from our clinic over the last 5 years.In the last 5 years, our 5 experts have got the title of Associate Professor.
