Department of Neurosurgery, University of Health Sciences izmir Bozyaka Education and
Research Hospital performs surgical intervention to all nervous system diseases with the most
advanced technology that accepted worldwide. More than 1200 patients per year were
operated successfully in our clinic. Almost half of these patients had operated due to brain
diseases and remaining the half ofthese patients had operated due to spinal diseases.
Our clinic aims to be in the forefront in neurosurgery field with 2 operating rooms with
the latest technology, 2 surgical microscopes, 1 c-arm fluoroscopy. The clinic with current
infrastructure is one ofthe best in the aegean region and in our country. Owing to these
progresses, our clinic applied to Turkish Neurosurgical Society for accreditation certificate.
There were 2 operating rooms, 26 hospital beds - 4 intensive care beds belong to our
clinic, 2 policlinic rooms, I seminar hall where you can watch the operations by video, I
microneurosurgery laboratory in our clinic.
Doctors working in our clinic; associate professor Alaattin Yurt (University of Health
Sciences), staff physician Dr. Ali Riza Erturk (The director of administrative affairs), staff
physician Dr. Emrah Akcay (chief assistant), staff physician Dr.lsmail Akkol, staffphysician

Cranial aneurysm operations, cranial arteriovenous malformation operations, cranial
hemorrhage operations, cranial and spinal tumor operations, complicated spinal operations,
cranial and spinal trauma operations can be performed successfully in our clinic.
